Corona Virus Decreases Part-time Job Income May 18 at 4:39
In order to support college students who are in financial need due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, there is an activity in Fukuoka Prefecture to deliver vegetables and other ingredients free of charge.
A group of local residents and students in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, are providing support.
On the day of the first day, a member of the group handed over vegetables such as spinach and potatoes, as well as some noodles, to Akane, a university student.
Mr. Kono said that although he had covered the cost of living by working part-time at a clothing store, he was unable to work part-time for about a month due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, so he said, “I really appreciate being able to use the ingredients in this way because I don’t have any money.”
According to the group, students have been complaining that their part-time job income has decreased and their lives are difficult, so they started their activities last month and provided about 40 people with ingredients that they had been transferred from local farmers.
“I was on the side of supporting myself, so I joined the activities in the hope that I would be able to help someone else. I would like to continue my activities while there are people in need.”
