Starbucks 25 to Osaka Kyoto Hyogo to resume in-store eating and drinking May 22 21:49
In response to the cancellation of the emergency declaration in Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo Prefecture, coffee chain Starbucks has decided to resume in-store food and drink in these areas from next week. Kentucky Fried Chicken will also resume eating and drinking in the store in areas where the state of emergency has been lifted, including the two prefectures.
Starbucks is only open for takeaways at its stores in Osaka, Kyoto, and Hyogo prefectures, but will resume eating and drinking in the store next week following the lifting of the emergency declaration.
On the other hand, the number of stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area and Hokkaido, where emergency declarations are continuing, will continue to be open only for take-out business, and will continue to be closed at approximately 300 stores in commercial facilities that are closed.
Kentucky Fried Chicken has also decided to resume eating and drinking in stores in about 690 stores in the region where emergency declarations have been lifted, including Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo.
The company says it will respond to store opening hours based on the local government’s policy.
On the other hand, about 440 stores in tokyo and other metropolitan areas and Hokkaido will be limited to takeaway sales for the time being.
