“Don’t lose to Corona” Aomori Mutsu May 23 17:22
As the new coronavirus continues to refrain from eating out, a direct sale by fishermen of the strong body trained by fishing was held in Mutsu City, Aomori Prefecture, in order to have fresh seafood tasted at home.
Because of the increase in fish consumption, fishermen have been selling fish directly for three years, but this time, as the trend to refrain from eating out due to the spread of infection continues, it was planned to have fresh seafood tasted at home.
There are more than 30 kinds of seafood in the current season, such as scallops and salmon that have just been landed at the supermarket in Mutsu City.
More than 10 fishermen, trained in fishing and with strong bodies, stand in the shop. Some of them became models of the prefecture’s “Fisherman’s Card”, which appeals to the body in a torso-length figure.
At the same time as the opening of the store at 9 a.m., customers visited one after another, and when they purchased what they were looking for, they received a Fisherman’s Card along with seafood.
A man in his 60s in Mutsu city said, “Not only did I want a card, but I also thought it was a difficult time with the new coronavirus, so I came here to cheer for it even a little. I’ll taste it with aomori local sake.”
Daisuke Okuzaki, a fisherman who participated in the direct sale and is a model for cards, said, “I want you to eat local fish and not lose to the virus.”
