Details of the Division and Team:

The key responsibility of the candidate will be to lead Investment Operations team responsible for operations functions for DWS Investment Japan.The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Investment Operations and preferably experienced in Asset Management industry.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Fund Accounting/Institutional Accounting/ Client Reporting activities in accordance with the Department policies and procedure, market standard in Japan
  • Oversight of Vendor activities
  • Timely and accurate provision of Net asset Value and related accounting input /output production
  • Control/Identify any operational Risk items
  • Enhancing control and continuously improving and reducing operational risk.Manage continuous improvement of the process and control environment
  • Participate Global /local Project as an Operations SME
  • Set direction for teams, create culture of control and set expectations for the team members
  • Manage people development and makes resourcing decisions
  • Set team objectives and evaluates performance against goals
  • Contribute to global functional business plans, and execute on the global and local agenda
  • Identify opportunities for further operating efficiencies
  • Mobilize cross functional teams to raise and address issues as needed
  • Articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely using both written and verbal communication methods
  • Participation in relevant industry bodies where needed
  • Development of relationships with senior Business Unit partners and act as a senior point of contact for them
  • Proactively explore tactical and strategic solutions to close identified control gaps. Ensure existence of mitigating controls and regularly review procedures, checklists and reports to ensure they are accurate.
  • Manage day to day activities for all of Asset Management Operations

Your skills and experience:

Experienced in financial industry in Operations processing roles

  • Strong technical understanding of products and transaction lifecycle in one or more asset classes
  • Strong listening and verbal/written communications
  • Proven ability to work across global teams to build credibility and strong relationships
  • Experience in external client interaction with strong network among industry partners, a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership in setting strategy
  • Ability to manage virtual teams to delivery on global initiative
