10 people infected at a nursing home for the elderly in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo Cluster or August 2 at 9:32 p.m.
Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, announced that 10 residents in their 70s and 90s have been confirmed infected with the new coronavirus at a nursing home for the elderly in the ward. The ward considers that the population of infected people = “cluster” has occurred, and is promoting the confirmation of the person in contact with the thick.
According to Setagaya-ku, at the end of last month, two residents with fever symptoms were examined at a special nursing home with a capacity of less than 100 people, and the infection of the new coronavirus was confirmed on 29th.
For this reason, 36 residents who were on the same floor were examined and eight new people in their 70s and 90s were confirmed.
So far, no infection has been confirmed for officials.
According to the ward, the facility will be disinfected, and the floor on which each staff member works will be fixed, and the operation will continue after thorough infection control.
The ward considers that a “cluster” has occurred, and will continue to check whether there are any other people in contact with the group, and will continue to observe the health of residents and staff to prevent the spread of infection.
