Japan Display Plant in Ishikawa Prefecture Sold to Sharp and Apple August 28 at 8:53 AM

Japan Display Co., Ltd., a liquid crystal panel manufacturer under management restructuring, has decided to sell its Hakusan plant in Ishikawa Prefecture, which has stopped operations, to Sharp, a major electronics manufacturer, and Apple, an American IT giant.
The Hakusan Plant, which produces liquid crystal panels for Apple in the U.S., will sell the plant’s site and buildings sharply for approximately 41.2 billion yen.

In addition, some of the production facilities in the plant will be sold to Apple for approximately 30.1 billion yen, in conjunction with the equipment already sold in March.
