・Government institutions and NGO’s, KOLs, Scientific associations within with the disease area, Patient associations, Industry associations, Target medical institutions and HCPs, & External business partners


The New Market Development and Product Commercialization Manager will be planning early commercialisation activities within the Commercialisation team.The main objectives are to maximise the opportunity that entering into treatment in Japanese market will offer for business growth in Japan.Working with the Director of Commercialisation, the Manager will be engaged in development and implementation of the business strategy (go-to-market strategy, product marketing strategy) for launch of the new products in Japan including future launches of other new medications and lifecycle management.

■ The Product Commercialization Manager roles and responsibilities will include:
・Prepare and execute early commercialisation plan and go-to-market strategy for the products
・Developing and overseeing the execution of operational plans that meet business objectives, taking into account the global marketing guidance and the short to medium term (5 year) business area strategy in Japan
・Contribute to an effective and forward-thinking cross-functional team, and help ensuring all stakeholder and customer needs and perspectives are considered in our business plans
・As a key member of the launch team, contribute to planning and development of the organizational structure required to optimize the business in Japan
・Drive the analysis whether a strategic partnership in Japan will optimize business opportunity
・Support the development of the professional skills and competencies of the sales and marketing organisation that will be required to enter the treatment area
・Educating, motivating and inspiring the entire NNPL organization about the business strategy, the core story, brand positioning, key messages and clinical evidence of diabetes brands and line extensions
・Working closely with Medical Affairs and Pricing and Market Access to ensure optimal pricing and market access for our new product portfolio
・Ensuring open and timely communication with stakeholders in IO and HQ on business-critical issues in Japan
・Driving awareness of the company’s engagement in the treatment area and building strong relationships and influencing with key external stakeholders, KOLs and target HCPs
・Identifying and implementing new innovative marketing tools in the company in Japan to support business goals


■ Together with the Director of Obesity Commercialisation, the Product Commercialization Manager will be accountable for:
・Development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans that are based on a comprehensive understanding of different customer segments and target audiences within treatment in Japan
・Undertaking market and competitor analysis and developing and implementing appropriate responses to new market insights to become competitive within treatment
・Creating a solid market modeling platform including scenario and contingency planning
・Driving market research to determine market requirements for new products and to support strategies and tactics
・Gaining customer insights and internal feedback on suggested marketing strategy through regular customer contact, and by keeping abreast of relevant publications, press clippings and government papers
・Continuous reporting of progress to NNPL management and IO including risks and challenges with proposed actions to address these on an on-going basis
・Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on marketing activity and results
・Communicating brand strategy, positioning, key messages and their rationale to the organisation and developing organisational understanding of market environment
・Ensuring effective opinion leader and key stakeholder management and development in collaboration with Medical and other cross-functional colleagues
・Driving positive brand image, working with the Communications team to ensure internal and external communications (media & PR plans) and professional management of issues pertaining to the treatment
・Developing understanding of the disease being a medical condition requiring treatment and ensuring treatment are being included in reimbursement list
・Determining and managing the budget process for the disease area, making sound decisions on optimising spending
・Contributing to the development of sales forecasts (3-5 years)

Experience * Musts:
Experience from pharmaceutical product management/marketing role including: successful pre-launch planning, development and execution of new product launch (including market access launch preparation, strategic market research & analysis, segmentation and targeting); marketing management of line extensions and new indications development of value propositions and health economic plans to enhance brand positioning with payers
・Extensive and recent pharmaceutical product launch capabilities
・At least 5+ years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry
・A good understanding of the global and Japanese pharmaceutical market
・Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills ■Technical Skills
・Strong business understanding
・Professional change management skills
・Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytics, and effective project management skills
・Demonstrated self-starter with experience working in multi-national and multi-functional teams
・Assertive with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to including report writing, creating and delivering presentations and ability to tailor content, delivery and design for a specific audience as appropriate
