Arrested is Suspect Kazuhiro Kumagai, 67, unemployed in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.
On the 7th of this month, a researcher at Kumamoto University, Tomosato Hagiwara, 35, who lives nearby, was found hanged and killed in a ditch on the side of a city road in Honjo, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, and police were investigating the murder.
As a result, there was a growing suspicion that Kumagai, who had previously been a cleaning worker, had abandoned his body in the apartment building where Mr. Hagiwara lived, and he was arrested on suspicion of abandoning the body in the early morning of the 13th.
According to the police, Kumagai said he had “thrown away the body” in response to the investigation and admitted the charges.
