SoftBank Group, which is improving its financial position, announced that it will sell its subsidiary Arm, a global semiconductor development company in the United Kingdom, to Envidia, a major Semiconductor Company in the United States.
The total amount of the sale is expected to reach up to approximately 40 billion U.S. dollars (approximately 4.2 trillion yen in Japanese yen), including payments by Envidia’s shares.

As a result, the SoftBank Group is expected to hold approximately 6.7% to 8.1% of Envidia’s shares, which are strengths in AI-artificial intelligence technologies used in autonomous driving, and will be involved in Arm as a major shareholder of Envidia in the future.
