TikTok U.S. business “without selling to Microsoft” and contacted September 14 at 8:59 a.m.
U.S. IT giant Microsoft was aiming to acquire the U.S. business of TikTok, a popular video-sharing app worldwide, but on Thursday announced that it had been contacted by Part Dance in China, which operates the app, that it would not sell it to Microsoft.
Over TikTok, U.S. President Trump issued a presidential decree banning the sale of business in the U.S. from late this month, cause the user’s personal information could be misused by the Chinese government and threatened security.
Meanwhile, the Chinese government last month announced stricter restrictions on overseas transfers to advanced technologies such as AI-artificial intelligence, which are also used by TikTok, and the future of Microsoft’s acquisition negotiations was unclear.
