Inappropriate advertisement on the Japan Meteorological Agency website From the day of the start of publication September 16, 4:00 a.m.
On the website of the Japan Meteorological Agency, which began to run private advertisements on the 15th, it was found that inappropriate advertisements that may violate the standards established by the Japan Meteorological Agency were posted. The Japan Meteorological Agency is taking a response to remove it.
The Japan Meteorological Agency began advertising privately on the website on the 15th to cover a portion of the operating costs of the website.
However, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency, since the start of advertising at 2 p.m., it has been found that there is a violation of the standards of publication, and the business operator entrusted with the operation has taken measures to remove the applicable advertisement.
According to the advertising standards established by the Japan Meteorological Agency, it is not possible to post anything that contains inappropriate content that violates the law or misides it as a fact, but NHK’s coverage confirmed that some of the advertisements that were running may violate the Pharmaceutical Advertising Act.
Concerns about these inappropriate ads have been pointed out for some time, and Japan Meteorological Agency Chief Yasuo Sekida said in a July press conference that “we will rule out ads that are not suitable for the country’s website from the beginning.”
The Japan Meteorological Agency says, “We will promptly respond to business operators who operate such as removing advertisements if they are judged to be inappropriate.”
