The facility where the fire broke out is located in a corner of Huawei’s research and development base, and a video taken by NHK about six hours before 9 p.m. local time, about six hours after the fire broke out, shows smoke still coming out of the building, although the momentum has subsided.
According to the fire department, the fire broke out at a facility under construction, mainly due to the burning of soundproofing building materials and no injuries.
The cause of the fire has not been clarified.
