Ministry of Justice Request 3 Policy to including the cost of rebuilding correctional facilities to prevent smuggling September 26 at 5:00 a.m.
In order to prevent the infection of the new coronavirus in correctional facilities such as prisons where so-called “three dense” is likely to occur, the Ministry of Justice intends to include approximately 46.5 billion yen in the budget request for the next fiscal year, such as the cost of rebuilding aging facilities that do not have sufficient infection countermeasures.
In a request for an estimate of the budget for the next fiscal year, the Ministry of Justice has decided to seek approximately 836.3 billion yen, 6% more than the original budget for the current fiscal year.
Among these, approximately 46.5 billion yen has been recorded as a new type of coronavirus measure, including the rebuilding of aging prisons where infection measures are insufficient, such as the hospital room not being separated by a wall, and the strengthening of the system for producing masks, protective clothing, medical gowns, etc. in the facility.
In addition, as problems related to salary declines and layoffs due to the effects of the new coronavirus are increasing, we have included approximately 36 billion yen as the cost of a system to enhance online and telephone consultation systems and to replace attorney fees for people who do not have the financial margin to increase usage.
