The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare decided to change the system to check the health center etc. because it was found that the wrong data was entered in the system which aggregates the infected person information of the new coronavirus introduced by the country for the purpose of reducing the burden of the public health center.
“HER-SYS” has been introduced to health centers and medical institutions nationwide since May with the aim of reducing the burden on public health centers.

In the past, health centers received fax notifications from medical institutions and entered data for infected people, while HER-SYS required medical institutions to enter data directly.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare held a meeting of experts today and reported that medical institutions were found to have entered incorrect data.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare proposed and approved the change of the data entered by the Public Health Center and the Institute of Health to a system for checking.

In addition, the system will be revamped to add the power to detect clear data errors by the end of this month.

It was also reported that only 41% of medical institutions responded that they were “entering data” in a questionnaire to medical institutions, and in order to reduce the burden, we decided not to ask for input if the input of patients suspected of infection was negative only for people who needed to be hospitalized.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare says, “We would like to continue to make improvements to reduce the burden as much as possible while seeking the cooperation of public health centers.”
