Campus Recruiter, Vice President in Tokyo with JP Morgan

The Campus Recruiter will be based in Tokyo and responsible for cross-lines of business campus recruiting into Japan. As an integral member of the global campus recruiting team, this person will have responsibility for the main elements of the campus recruiting infrastructure, as well as input into the strategy and philosophy of the firm’s hiring within the region.

The campus recruiter will be in charge of the end-to-end process of campus recruiting for program tracks in Japan –from managing stakeholder requirements, season planning, event coordination to recruiting and internship program management. The recruiter may also be expected to provide oversight to recruitment efforts more locally for other countries across APAC in addition to adhoc local and global projects.

Recruiting Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee and influence recruiting strategy designed to attract top talent into Japan
  • Build and partner with senior business stakeholders to formulate effective recruiting strategy
  • Develop and execute on campus diversity hiring and initiatives
  • Partner internally with other areas of the firm and build / utilize external network to share and learn best practices
  • Engage with program management and HRBP teams to understand needs and demands of stakeholders
  • Formulate plans and present regular campus hiring updates to management and diversity committees
  • Analyze university and hiring metrics to drive school selection decisions and improvements to strategy and process
  • Manage key recruiting events (including keep warm activities), projects and other initiatives as required

Relationship Management

  • Pre-screen candidates to recommend for additional interview rounds
  • Maintain relationships with candidates
  • Seek out opportunities to build relationships with universities and partner organizations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with program management teams, employer brand, hiring managers, and other key stakeholders
  • Maintain strong relationships with both campus and lateral recruiting teams to leverage best practices locally and globally
  • Establish relationships with external peer groups to share best practices and market intelligence

Program Management

  • Plan and manage Summer Analyst Program, including orientation days (with training) and continued learning opportunities
  • Provide support, mentorship and act as key point of escalation for interns
  • Partner with the business to evaluation interns for full time offers
  • Help plan and execute the onboarding and orientation of Japan Full Time analyst class

About You

  • 5+ years of business / recruiting experience or relevant experience in junior talent resource management; ideal candidate has prior experience working in university relations, campus recruiting or career services across any sector
  • Knowledge of student market and higher educational system in Japan
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and manage projects
  • People management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities; ability to multi-task and work autonomously at times
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Strong influencing skills –demonstrated ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills: verbally and written –willing / comfortable presenting to large groups
  • Strong MS office skills (ie Word, PPT, Excel)
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • Travel required during peak on-campus seasons
