Chinese Premier Li stresses Corona Virus results and celebrates the U.S.-Ken system at 22:45 p.m. on September 30
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, speaking at an event celebrating national celebrations on the evening of the 30th, stressed that he had achieved “significant strategic results in the fight against the new Coronavirus” and said he would “resolutely oppose and stop the divisory acts of ‘Taiwan independence’ and external interference” with the United States strengthening relations with Taiwan in mind.
Ahead of China’s National Day, about 500 people, including senior officials of the Communist Party and government, including President Xi Jinping, as well as ambassadors from various countries, attended the reception held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the evening of the 30th.
In his speech, Premier Li Keqiang stressed the containment of the virus, noting that he had made “great sacrifices through hardships and efforts and achieved significant strategic results in the fight against the new coronavirus.”
He also stated that Hong Kong, which enforced the National Security Maintenance Act to crack down on anti-government movements, “will establish systems and mechanisms related to the Constitution and the Hong Kong Basic Law, promote a ‘one country, two systems’, and develop it in a stable and long term.”
In addition, keeping in mind that the United States is strengthening its relationship with Taiwan, including visits by senior government officials for the second month in a row, he said he would “resolutely oppose and prevent the division of ‘Taiwan independence’ and external interference,” and won over the Trump administration.
China has emphasized the correctness of the government’s response to the new coronavirus and has shown a tough stance on Hong Kong and Taiwan in the future.
