As the aviation industry is severely hit by the new coronavirus, LCC-low-cost airline Jetstar Japan has decided to effectively withdraw from six domestic routes.
According to the parties concerned, Jetstar Japan, the LCC with 50% of Japan Airlines’ shares, has decided to suspend and effectively withdraw all flights on six domestic routes that are currently unsealed due to the new Coronavirus during the winter schedule from the end of October to March next year.

Specifically
Routes between Kansai Airport and Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Kochi
The route between Chubu Airport and New Chitose and Kagoshima,
This is the route between Narita Airport and Shonai Airport.

In line with this, the company has closed its offices at Kansai Airport as a base for pilots and flight attendants, and in order to reduce labor costs, the company has offered a total of approximately 600 pilots and flight attendants to retire or take long unpaid vacations.

The airline industry continues to face severe business conditions due to the effects of the new Coronavirus, and AirAsia Japan, an LCC based at Chubu Airport, has announced that it will withdraw from Japan.
