On the morning of the 15th, a bear was captured by police and the Hounyukai near a commercial area in Fukui City. According to the city, no one was injured.

Just after 5 a.m. on the 15th, a nearby resident reported to the police that there was a bear in a residential area in Takagi Kita, Fukui City.

Police found and tracked a bear near the scene when it ran into a gutter near a discount store in Owada, Fukui City along National Route 8.

After the police closed the nearest road, they set up a catch fence with the Hunting Friends Association and continued to be on alert, and before 11 a.m., a bear entered the in-house and was captured.

The site is a commercial area in the suburbs about 5 kilometers away from the center of Fukui City, and according to the city, there are no injured people in the surrounding residents or shoppers.

In Fukui Prefecture, the number of black bears infested has increased to 517 from April to last month, the highest number since 2004 when statistics began, and a total of six people have been attacked and injured by bears.

As the number of infested areas increases at its peak next month, the prefecture is calling for measures such as removing persimmons near houses and cutting grass in places where bears are likely to lurk.
