Ioc President Bach of the International Olympic Committee has made final adjustments by visiting Japan from the 15th of this month for the first time since the decision to postpone the Tokyo Olympics.
In March, President Bach met with then-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe by telephone and agreed to postpone the Tokyo Games by one year due to the spread of the global spread of the new coronavirus, after which it was decided that the games would begin on July 23 next year.

The IOC is continuing to discuss virus infection countermeasures and cost reductions with the organizing committee of the Games, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the government for next year’s Games.

According to those concerned, it was found that President Bach had come to Japan from the 15th of this month for the first time since the postponement decision and was making final adjustments in the direction of meeting with Prime Minister Kan and Governor Koike of Tokyo.

President Bach is expected to stay in Tokyo until the 18th and attend meetings with the organizing committee of the Games.
