All the rituals of a series of countries associated with the succession to the throne, which are performed by the Empress of Japan, are completed.

A series of national ceremonies associated with the succession to the throne, which is performed by the Empress, ends on November 8 at 7:27 p.m.

On August 8, the Imperial Palace and palace held a series of national ceremonies associated with the succession to the throne.
On the 8th, after 11 a.m., the ceremony of “Senmei” was held at the “Matsuma” of the Imperial Palace and palace, which is the center of the “Rei of the Empress of Japan.”

The ceremony was attended by the Emperor and Empress and Their Wife Akishino, as well as nine members of the royal family, including the Head of the Three Powers, including the Prime Minister, and representatives of foreign ambassadors.

At the beginning, the Emperor said, “I will widely declare to the inside and outside that Prince Bunnin is the Empress, as stipulated by the Imperial Household Code.”

Next, Princess Akishino, along with Princess Noriko, advanced to the front of the Emperor and said, “I deeply feel deeply about my responsibilities as Empress, and I would like to fulfill my duty.”

After this, Prime Minister Kan said a congratulatory word called “Yogoto”.

Then, just after 4:30 p.m., the “Asami no Ritual” was held, and Prince Akishima, along with Princess Noriko, went forward to the Emperor and said, “Today, I was truly in awe of the ceremony of Nobuaki Tsingyu. I will continue to do my best to fulfill my role as Empress.”

Next, the Emperor and his wife were presented with the words, “I hope that you will make full use of what you have cultivated so far, meet the expectations of the people, and fulfill your service as Empress.”

After this, the Emperor and Empress of Japan ended the ceremony by awarding the kazuki in the order of Princess Akishino and Princess Noriko.

This is the end of all the national rituals associated with the succession of the throne from the Emperor to the Emperor, which began with the ceremony of the abdication Rei Masaden in April last year.

After the ceremony, the Prince and Mrs. Akishino got into the car from the palace’s drive and were sent to the temporary residence of the Prince and His Wife in Minato Ward, Tokyo, to report the end of the “Rei of the Empress.”

More than 20 people were waiting along the road in front of the Qingmen Gate of the Imperial Palace, and the Prince and Mrs. Akishima were answered by opening the window and bowing.

Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress and their wife attended two ceremonies of the “Rei of the Empress” on August 8, as well as related imperial events.

In the morning, the Emperor attended a ceremony to convey to the ancestors and gods of the Imperial Family that the Imperial Palace’s three shrines would be performed, and the Empress followed.

Then, at the Imperial Palace and Palace, after the central ceremony of the “Rei of the Empress”, the Ceremony of the Empress, the Emperor was given a sword called Tsuborigiken, which has been passed down to successive Crown Princes.

After this, Prince Akishino left the palace in a two-prounder carriage with a “Takanuchi Goken” and went to the three shrines of Miyanaka.

This carriage has been used for about 30 years since the Emperor’s “Rei of the Prince” in 1991.

With Princess Noriko, Princess Akishino attended a ceremony to convey that she had become empress in the three shrines of Miyanaka, and was worshipped for the first time as empress.

On the other hand, for events where Mr. and Mrs. Akishima visit Ise Grand Shrine in Mie Prefecture, due to the influence of the new Coronavirus, it is to be postponed for the time being, and when these events are over, all the rituals and events associated with the succession to the throne will be over.

National debate on the succession to the throne, Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo

At the “Rei of the Empress” on the 8th, all the national ceremonies associated with the succession of the throne from the Emperor to the Emperor were completed.

Takashi Ming, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, who served as the chair of the government’s panel of experts for the abdication of Joko, said, “It is good to say that the new imperial system has finally been established, and I cannot bear the emotion.”

On that basis, he points out that there should be a national debate about the succession to the throne in the future.

In addition to The Imperial Palace, the current Imperial Family is limited to The Imperial Palace, the eldest son of the Prince and Mrs. Akishima, and the younger brother of the Prince and Mrs. Joko.

Mr. Ming said, “At last, one movement of the Imperial Family is over, and we have to start a discussion here about what to do with the new Imperial Family. If we procrastinate, the number of heirs to the throne will decrease more and more, so we don’t want to procrastinate.”
He said, “I think it is necessary for everyone to carefully inform everyone and think firmly but slowly about what the Emperor and the Imperial Family should be in the future.”
