The Governor of Tokyo and the Minister of Reconstruction meet at the “Reconstruction Olympic Games” on November 18 at 5:35 p.m.
In preparation for next year’s Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, Governor Koike of Tokyo and Reconstruction Minister Hirasawa met and confirmed that they will work together to achieve success as a successful event to disseminate the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake to the world.
Governor Koike of Tokyo met with Reconstruction Minister Hirasawa at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office in the afternoon of August 18.
In this, Minister Hirasawa said of next year’s Tokyo Games, “I am very much looking forward to the disaster areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Through the tournament, I would like to send a message that the disaster-affected areas have been cheered up with support from all over the world.”
In response, Governor Koike said, “The ‘Reconstruction Olympics’ is a key word when inviting the Games. We would like to support them as much as possible,” he said, confirming that they will work together to make the tournament a success as a tournament that disseminates reconstruction to the world.
Governor Koike also introduced a video produced by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to promote the “Reconstruction Olympics” and indicated his plan to screen it at events for the Games.
