Science and Technology Minister Inoue to exchange views with young members of the Science Council of Japan November 20 at 1:37 p.m.
Regarding the state of the Science Council of Japan, Mr. Inoue, Minister of Science and Technology, made it clear that he would exchange opinions with young members next week, and expressed his hope that it would be reflected in future verifications to improve the diversity of academic conferences.
The Minister of Science and Technology Inoue, who is in charge of science and technology, is working to verify the expected role of the Science Council.
At a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, Minister Inoue made it clear that he would visit an academic conference next week to exchange opinions with young members in their 40s and collaborations, including women and local researchers.
On that basis, he said, “I have an awareness of issues such as how well young people are playing an active role and how much young people’s opinions are reflected in the management and recommendations of the conference, and I would like to exchange views frankly, and I would like to reflect this in future verifications and lead to the improvement of the diversity of academic conferences.”
