Job offer: Senior Manager in Tokyo with Adidas

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Create an optimal product range framework (range architecture) and store level assortment framework (option planning), working closely with the Category planning and Assortment Planning teams / Key commercial channels to populate and deploy key Brand concepts in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Analyze SI & ST per business segment, product type, color and price bands by channels to validate Global CtC proposal
  • Work with Japan Category planning and Brand Activation teams to understand seasonal strategy / priorities / insights for Japan in order to validate the seasonal Range Architecture provided by Global CtC
  • Bring art (qualitative input) and Science (quantitative input) together to sense check Global CtC proposal
  • Consolidate all categories and sub brands RA
  • Provide range architecture framework to Category Planning team: number of SKUs by business segment, price bands, product type, by month, by quarter…
  • Provide future season pricing guidance to Category planning team
  • Provide Retail Exit Date guidance to Category planning team
  • Track compliance of Japan range: size, pricing compliance, ASP, Customer Range Segmentation…
  • Collaborate with FP & A and Demand Planning to create range roadmap
  • Leverage RA Tool (if available for Reebok “Cube”) and Microstrategy to run analysis
  • Present range architecture and align with Category Planning and Assortment Planning to present a full plan for deployment at various Key Go To Market milestones


  • Utilize marketing calendar, brand priorities, historical sell thru and sell-in, category targets and retail option capacity to drive option planning by category by store clusters across all channels
  • Align with brand marketing calendar to ensure accurate drops by month / quarter
  • Update option planning along the season based on the Go To Market Process of Assortment planning
  • Collaborate with Assortment planning re-evaluate the market Range Architecture needs with Category planning
  • Weekly SI and ST tracking to report to local team to modify action plan

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Distinct track record of success and high-level range analysis, merchandising and retail space management
  • Strong presentation / communication skills
  • Advanced user of MS Office suite of products and Microstrategy
  • Experience in market roles

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business or equivalent professional experience, ideally in Sales and / or Marketing
  • 8 years’ experience in relevant Marketing fields or Demand Planning
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent or at least intermediate level in Japanese preferred
  • Passion for sports and sports style
