Box strengthens integration with Microsoft 365 platform

Box and Microsoft have announced new integrations between Box and the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams platforms. The aim is to make it easier for Box users to access and collaborate on content in Microsoft’s product portfolio.
A feature has been released within Microsoft Teams that allows you to be notified of Box. This will allow users of both companies’ products to receive important updates about Box files directly within Teams. In the spring of 2021, Box will further upgrade Box’s integration capabilities for Teams to further enhance the Box experience built into Teams. It will also provide the ability to create, share, open and edit Box files within Teams. On the security front, Box has imported Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) classification labels and built an integrated feature that enhances inline security control using Box Shield. Make it easy for users of both companies’ products to protect their content on the two platforms. This feature will be available in May. Microsoft and Box have also enabled the enhanced Microsoft Intune app protection policy feature to allow you to open and store copies of managed documents in Box storage only. In addition, the integration function between Box and “Microsoft Office” has been strengthened. Box for “Microsoft Office Online” has increased the file size of “Excel” and “PowerPoint” that it supports. In addition, the Box connector for “Microsoft Graph” will be generally available in the summer of 2021.
