NTT DoCoMo announced that it will display a check mark in emails for “docomo mail” users sent from the official accounts of companies and organizations that have applied for it after mid-May as a countermeasure against phishing scams. It is free of charge and is calling on companies and organizations to introduce it. The check mark is displayed as a green “re” on the doCoMo mail app or browser screen, allowing the user to confirm at a glance that the mail is from an official account. The display target is the email of the official account of the company or organization delivered by applying to NTT DoCoMo and using SPF (Sender Policy Framework), which is one of the sender authentication technologies. SMBC Group, Sagawa Express, Japan Post Group, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, LINE, Rakuten have decided to introduce it. Applications from companies and organizations are accepted on NTT DoCoMo’s corporate website, and it takes a minimum of one month to start using it after screening.
