Position Overview

The Technical Sales Manager of The AEC Platform Team is a key leadership role that will oversee a team of Experts focused on a variety of AEC sub-industries. This leadership role provides direction on account strategy, operating model, technical sales management, and execution in order to drive business results and meet / exceeded financial and business objectives.

Responsibilities

Drive Business Results:

  • Achieve and / or exceed assigned financial targets by guiding the team to develop and expand sales opportunities in Mid-market and Territory, or by leveraging Partners
  • Manage and facilitate the team’s execution of the technical sales strategy for all opportunities
  • Coach technical sales team members to identify, develop and drive sales pipeline in collaboration with Sales counterparts
  • Drive sales of the entire Autodesk solution and portfolio to end customers, including Software, Subscription, Support and Consulting directly or through Partners & Service Providers

Establish Operating Model:

  • Identify “White Space” expansion opportunities and develop strategies to win New business
  • Engage and inspire team members to look at near and long-term vision of the accounts, while helping to formulate the appropriate strategy for specific opportunities
  • Coordinate, influence, and orchestrate all of the appropriate resources to achieve technical closure
  • Collaborate with technical sales managers and peers in other verticals to share best practices (ex: Construction / Manufacturing / Media and Entertainment)

Coach / Mentor / Influence:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key Autodesk senior leadership from marketing, strategy, product management, finance, sales operations, and legal in order to achieve key business initiatives
  • Lead the activities of the Subject Matter Expert team, including hiring, coaching, developing talent, team culture and performance management in alignment with the broader Technical Sales organization
  • Provide regular customer feedback and influence into the product, industry & strategic marketing teams to help identify product strengths and areas of improvement, working in conjunction with extended teams
  • Able to build and influence a global / virtual team (Sales, Support and Consulting)
  • Develop strong working relationships across GEOs and functions (Finance, Operations, Legal, etc.)
  • Make contributions to Autodesk & immediate team while looking for greater impact and purpose

Minimum Qualifications

  • Principle-centered with strong business ethics
  • Results oriented; strong verbal and written communication skills; self-awareness
  • Proven ability to develop strong long-term business relationships.
  • 5+ years strategic sales or technical sales experience in the software industry
  • Ideally a minimum of 1-3 + years of management experience (with direct reports) in the software industry or equivalent demonstrated team leadership (with no direct reports)
  • Industry experience within the AEC industry is a plus, but not required
  • Experience in leading strategic initiatives in a matrixed environment
  • Self-motivated, with proven track record of achievement as a recognized sales leader
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven sales environment and interfacing with all stakeholders at all seniority levels
  • Relationship-based software experience selling into the C-suite
  • Highly driven, determined, integrity focused & business-oriented
  • Must be willing to travel (~ 50%) to achieve sales objectives
  • Fluency in Japanese and English required
