The Corporation Law team in Asia supports the Corporate Treasury team and the Global Markets Division in Our team collaborates closely with professionals throughout the firm, including Corporate Treasury, the Global Markets Division, the Executive Office, the Investment Banking Division, Tax and Controllers, in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, London, New York and other offices, as well as outside counsels and other external service providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As a Vice President in Singapore Treasury Legal your responsibilities may include, among others:

  • Financing and securities offerings of Goldman Sachs in different jurisdictions across Asia Pacific, including offerings of debt securities and structured products linking to equities, commodities, currencies and interest rates
  • Goldman Sachs Treasury activities, including secured loans, bank loans and other funding activities, entity capitalization, letters of credit and guarantees
  • A wide variety of special projects, including acquisitions, structured transactions, new businesses (such as Transaction Banking), outsourcing arrangements and corporate governance
  • Implementation of regulatory developments affecting Goldman Sachs
  • Periodic reporting by Goldman Sachs in the Asia Pacific region
  • Internal and external communications by Goldman Sachs

Qualifications

  • US or UK qualified securities lawyer with 2-6 years of experience at a top tier law firm who is a graduate of a top tier law school
  • Experience with banking or other types of structured or leveraged finance transactions is helpful
  • Self-starter, capable of juggling multiple transactions and working independently, as well as with broader teams
  • Should be interested in getting involved in a number of diverse and unfamiliar projects / areas of the law
  • Ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be a good team player
  • Chinese (Mandarin) language skills preferred for reviewing Chinese transaction documentation but not essential
